Resumen
En este trabajo presentamos un modelo económico sencillo para explicar el precio de los esclavos en el Caribe neogranadino en el siglo xviii y comienzos del xix. En este, el precio se explica por la edad, la edad al cuadrado, el género, si era calificado o no, si trabajaban en las minas, y si estaba sano o no. La base de datos, que se construye usando información del Archivo General de la Nación, incluye precios para un total de 1.064 personas que trabajaban en las haciendas, minas y tejares de la región caribeña neogranadina.
